Chet Kempinski

Chet is a seasoned executive with a track record of developing and implementing effective strategies via inclusive leadership. With more than 30 years of experience, he offers thoughtful, objective perspectives, then drives cross-functional teams to achieve results.

Chet has assessed and led operational turnarounds and improvement initiatives across an array of industries including manufacturing, financial services, industrial and consumer products, and hospitality, both as a consultant and as an operator. Past successes include the assessment of a $220M apparel importer distributor where he identified and designed facility and line layout efficiencies to reduce labor requirement and generate more than 75% improvement in operating income. Also, he performed a strategic operations evaluation of a $400M medical products supplier where he established a sourcing focus with initial projects realizing $7.1M annually. Chet identified and initiated the closing of a $20.3M gap in product line profitability via SKU reduction and piloting standard component custom offerings.

Prior to joining Firefly, Chet was an SVP at Deloitte, led a turnaround as COO for a consumer products distributor, led practice development for a consultancy specializing in Lean Six Sigma and operational turnarounds, and held leadership positions at GE. Chet earned his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Gemba Kaizen Shingijutsu certifications at GE. His career started at Andersen Consulting.
